What is the Air Skier?
The Air Skier simulates the movement of cross-country skiing, working the upper and lower body at the same time providing optimal cardiovascular benefits to increase the amount of calories burned. It is possible to raise the intensity of a ski workout as the user becomes fit and lean - just as you might do by real cross-country skiing. By design the GreenGym Air Skier uses independent leg motion in that the skis are not linked. This provides a more intense workout that is more similar to actual skiing. Using the Air Skier may take some practice in the beginning and the user should focus on establishing a rhythm while moving the arms and legs.
Benefits to All Users
The Air Skier is a terrific way to get a great workout for the whole body. This one simple unit may be able to take the place of numerous pieces of equipment. With the Air Skier you are using your legs and your arms, as well as a getting a cardiovascular workout. Fitness experts say that cross country ski machines are useful all-around workouts that work both the upper and lower body, raise the heart rate and burn more calories than most other cardio work-outs. You can work the quadriceps, hamstrings and hips– as well as the back, arms and shoulders. The poling motion builds upper body strength, the leg motion builds leg and lower-back strength, and combined motions add to a complete cardiovascular workout.
Benefits to Seniors
The purpose of the Air Skier is to provide a workout that has no impact or strain on the joints and that feels exactly like cross country skiing. Cross country skiing is one of the best types of exercise that anyone can do, because it provides a total body workout without any heavy impact. The Air Skier provides repetitive movement while offering minimal resistance making it an ideal unit for Seniors to experience a cardiovascular work-out while helping them to build upper body, lower body, back, and core muscles, all in one exercise.
